To learn about Tulsa Lasik eye surgery, firstly one should know what a LASIK is. Lasik is a modern eye surgery performed with a laser. It achieves to correct vision by reshaping the o 00004000 ut-of-shape cornea by the laser. LASIK is the abbreviation of Laser-Assisted inSItu Keratomileusis, in which the last word Keratomileusis comes from Greek, referring to one part of the party which will be involved in the surgery, the cornea in this case. Candidates for LASIK can be those suffering from nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism, but they must be over 18 years old and have had the same prescription glasses for a year or more.
Tulsa Lasik eye surgery is one kind of the LASIK. During the procedure, the surgeon would create a small incision so that he/she would lift up the cornea and correct vision by reshaping the eyeball. As the reshaping procedure complete, the flap created will be repositioned. Even though Tulsa Lasik is able to effectively correct vision, however, it can not help those suffering from serious eye conditions, such as cataracts and macular degeneration, etc... This is a rather serious problem, and never takes it a trifling matter, or severe eye problems would be resulted in. A loss of sight is possible.
The Tulsa Lasik eye surgeons have all been strictly trained. They have to undergo thousands of hours of classroom training the rigorous testing. To retain their licenses, they have also to go further education for hours. All the equipments they apply during their training period are those kept up with the latest advances. Therefore, an examination should be done before the surgery and when the Tulsa Lasik eye surgeon finds one of those problems then, he/she will advise you not to undergo such a procedure, but refer you to someone more qualified to treat the condition.
In average, vision correction for one eye costs one thousand to four thousand US dollars. The exact fee is determined by the firm you are going to cooperate with. Of course it is a great amount of money to have such a procedure for some people, therefore, to do some serious comparison shopping before committing to the procedure is necessary.
A Tulsa Lasik vision correction procedure may be just what you need in order to toss away those inconvenient glasses forever. Check related information, contact a proper eye surgery clinic and you will regain your eyesight in minutes.

QUESTION:
How much does it cost to get Lasik done in Denver?-
ANSWER:
It depends on how much work needs to be done, lots of companies have a minimum price that they advertise, but depending on how bad your eyesight is and any other kind of possible complications that they will have to work around (glaucoma, cataracts, etc) will increase the price accordingly. The best thing to do would be to shop around for the best price, and i'm not sure if they have any offices in Denver but i would suggest Lasik MD if there are as they are where i got mine done and they where very professional and upright about all the things that had to be done (both pre and post op) and all the things that affected price. Plus there was a no pressure completely free eye exam that came before they quoted a price so you know exactly what your getting into before you get stuck signing or agreeing to anything.

QUESTION:
Does altitude have an effect on the outcome of LASIK?
For instance, if you had the surgery done in Denver and then moved to Florida a year after the procedure would your eyesight be as good as it was in Denver postoperatively?-
ANSWER:
SteelKraut26, I got Lasik correction last year and haven't had any problems. It took me a long time to get comfortable enough with the risks to get the surgery performed, now I'm glad I did. I spent hours at the clinic inquiring about how the surgery work (Lasik vs PRK) and how it would affect me. My Connecticut eye doctor was very comforting. Try calling your local Florida laser vision clinic and make an appointment for a consultation. http://www.locallaservisioncenters.com/Florida-Laser-Vision-Correction.htmlGood Luck

QUESTION:
Laser Eye Surgery Reviews in Denver?
I'm thinking about getting Lasik done on my eyes. I have astigmatism and am right above being declared legally blind. But these are my eyes were talking about and I'm more than a little bit hesitant. With so many different advertisements and the overwhelming amount of information but lack of personal reviews available on the internet, I'm not sure where to start. I was hoping to get referrals from personal experiences. Thank you very much.-
ANSWER:
Well, I can't really send you to website or anything. But I can tell you my experience. I used Corneal Consultants ( http://corneacolorado.com ) which is located near Highlands Ranch. Dr. Damiano was my doctor. I used doctors from this office for normal eye check ups for at least a decade before I had the eye surgery. Both Damiano and Forstot have impressive resumes. I was happy with my results (I did PRK instead of LASIK, but they are pretty similar). I felt more comfortable with them since they are both corneal surgeons that do much more complicated procedures than LASIK (things like transplants). I figured if anything went wrong, I had a doctor who could do something about it. And the 'cutting' involved in PRK or LASIK would be simple compared to what they normally do (and do well). There are two drawbacks. First, they are more expensive than other places. I personally think my eyes are worth the expense of a doctor I trust. And the 'money back' offers are so silly in my opinion. "Hey, we just blinded you, but don't worry, here's you 0 back!" THe second drawback is that these guys are busy, so it can be harder to get quality time with the doctor. Almost all the office contact I had was with a trainee. But then again, you don't feel bad about asking a trainee a bunch of stupid questions. And the trainee had an MD as well, so he knew what he was talking about.Well, I hope that helps. My advice would be go for a consult and find a doctor you trust. And good luck! I really do like waking up in the morning and being able to read the alarm clock.

QUESTION:
Laser Surgery (Lasik)?
Has anyone had lasik, or similar eye surgery in the Denver area? I am interested and unsure of who should perform, how expensive it REALLY is and the like. Recovery time is faster and it will save me money in the long run. Any ideas/comments/concerns/advise/experience to share?-
ANSWER:
I'm in Denver and the ones I hear the most positive things about are Spivack, Karen Heuer, and Bill Hines. All of 'em have websites (which I'll get to in a minute) and all of 'em are probably worthwhile to check out. It's my opinion that you really want to avoid the Lasik "factories" like Icon and TLC. While you might stand a good chance of getting your proceedure done correctly there....you also have to keep in mind that you're getting your surgery done somewhere that prides itself on getting "as many surgerys done per day as possible". Now, I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound like the type of place I'd want to trust my vision to....
Now then. About pricing. Since Lasik SHOULD be an extremely individual proceedure, I'd be very leery of a Lasik center that promises a "set" price before you have an initial consultation with a doctor. See, your eyes are shaped differently than ANYONE elses...and will present the surgeon with a completely unique set of circumstances. Promising a certian price before determining those circumstances seems to be more than a little dishonest...and possibly unethical. But maybe that's just me....
All I know is that I wouldn't go anywhere that advertises something like, "THIS WEEK ONLY....LASIK FOR 0 PER EYE!!!"
Anyhow, here are the websites. You'll notice that none of them have a "set" price...or "this week's special" on there. They're all very informative and will hopefully help you get all of the information you might want to have.
I hope this helps....

EDIT: The person below who works at a LASIK facility posted some great information, but I would quibble with one point. She said to be wary of "lifetime enhancements" and to go to a doctor who can get the proper results with one surgery.
Well, in my opinion, you want to go to a doctor who takes ownership of your personal situation and will do what's right for your eyesight...REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY SURGERIES IT TAKES!!!
See, sometimes an individual's eyesight is so bad that trying to correct it in one surgery is nearly impossible...and could actually pose more of a problem than simply planning on doing two (or more) surgeries to get the proper degree of correction. If you KNOW your eyesight is really lousy, then I would be sure you bring this up with whomever you consult with.
Also, call me crazy, but I WANT A DOCTOR THAT STANDS BEHIND HIS/HER WORK!!! It's my opinion that the benefits of a lifetime guarantee/adjustment policy FAR outweigh the possibility of the lasik center "closing" or somehow ceasing to exist. Besides, the three lasik centers I've provided links to above will NOT be going out of business anytime soon...
