If you have a history of eye problems then you have probably heard for the methodology of Dr. W. Bates. This philosophy has been discussed all over Internet and still people are wondering each day can this really work?
First of all, let me explain who Dr. Bates was and what his philosophy was. Well, he was ophthalmologists who spend many years experimenting and finally come up with a theory that was (for his time) revolutionary but unfortunately not excepted well among colleagues.
Dr. Bates claimed, that all types of vision disorders are a result to lack of strength in eye muscles and that it can actually be healed and vision completely improved just by following his detail instructions for eye exercises. You will understand how his theory was not well accepted not only because of doctors who refused to depart from traditional methods of treatment, but also due to the financial aspect. Today a lot of money lies in the vision improvement industry and not too many specialists are willing to recommend an alternative treating method for vision improvement that costs ten times less than laser surgery or medical aids prescribed to patients with vision and eye disorders.
What was actually the point in Dr. Bates philosophy that caused numerous protests by his colleagues was his claim that eye glasses and contact lenses actually make your vision worse and not helping at all. He claimed that people should not use any medical aids to improve their vision. When you think about it, it makes quite sense. Eye is a muscle and like any other muscle when not in use becomes lazy and eventually loses its functionality. Wearing glasses only make the situation worse and ultimately does not help your eyesight, jet you are bound to purchase new glasses with larger prescription each year.
Today, there are a lot of materials and courses explaining the method of Dr. Bates exercises and more and more people each day write testimonials about their sight miraculously improve at the surprise of their doctors. Usually people claims that they experienced improvement in their vision around day three and four of implementing eye exercises by dr. Bates and with time and persistence they were able to stop wearing their glasses and lenses after 30-40 days completely.

QUESTION:
How do you improve your eyesight without LASIK in singapore?
How do you improve your eyesight from 280degrees to a degree where you don't need to wear spectacles without LASIK and in Singapore?
I mean i am myopic and - 2.8 d-
ANSWER:
Pencil ExerciseHold a pencil arms length in front of you. Really focus on the tip of that pencil. Once you have it focussed, very slowly move it towards you whilst still maintaining the focus. See how close you can get it before losing this focus.
Swinging
Focus on a distant object, swaying gently from side to side. Do this for a few minutes every day, blinking as you sway. The blinking helps clean and lubricates the eyes, which is especially important if you spend a lot of time in front of a computer.
Clothesline
Japanese studies show that this exercise can significantly improve your eyesight if done regularly. Place a picture on a clothesline. Stand about a foot away from it and focus on the picture whilst it is (probably rapidly) moving. Move back a foot and repeat. Continue with this until you are about 10 feet away.
Candle Exercise
Eye sight is not just about your eyes. It is also about the eye brain relationship. Your brain must interpret what the eyes pick up. This exercise aims to improve the brain/eye connection.
Put your self in a quiet, dark place and look at a lighted candle. Focus your attention at the blue part of the flame and blink gently. After a minute or two try to imagine the lighted flame with your eyes closed.
If the visualization is not perfect, again look at the blue part of the flame and try to imagine the same without making any effort. When you are able to visualize the flame in your imagination open your eyes.
Colour Day
Choose a colour and look out for it throughout the day wherever you go. When you see the particular colour, be aware of it. Don’t bother concentrating on the shape of the object, just experience the colour and it’s subtle shadings. This again should help the eye/brain connection. Sunning
Try to do this daily. It may be difficult if you live somewhere like the UK! Close your eyes. Look directly at the sun through your closed eyes. While facing the sun, slowly rotate your head from side to side as far as you can. This gets the sunlight on the peripheral vision, and it helps bring more blood circulation to your neck. Do this for a few minutes. Enjoy the warming soothing feeling of the sun on your eyes.
Eye Massage
This exercise helps improve the blood circulation to the eye muscles.

I am thinking of going for Lasik surgery, but not sure where to go. There's a few places that I know of. Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), Lasik Surgery Clinic at Paragon, and Mt. Elizabeth Medical Centre.
Any recommandations on which one should I go to??-
ANSWER:
Dont know anything about the places in Singapore to have it done, however be sure to go for a few consultations and choose the surgeon with the best reputation and one you feel comfortable with. Also, be sure to get the Intralase ( all laser). Do not go for the blade (microkerotome) as many complications result from blade surgery.

QUESTION:
Reliable Lasik surgeon recommendation in Singapore?
I am 34yrs old. I'm interested to go for lasik surgery, can anyone recommend lasik surgeon? If you had gone thru surgery before pls tell me about your experience. What is your success rate? Total cost of surgery? Is it better to go to polyclinic first to get recommendation so that we can get subsidise?-
ANSWER:
Lasik and other corrective eye surgeries are considered to be 'cosmetic surgery'; you will not be eligible for subsidies nor can you use your Medisave, unless the surgery is done for 'medical reasons' e.g. you are visually handicapped and lasik is the only option left. The only hospital I know that does corrective eye surgery is the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), next to the Singapore General Hospital. I am very sure they are not the only institution in Singapore that does it but I do not know of any other hospitals.
Cost varies depending on which procedure you elect to have performed on you and the most appropriate procedure is again determined by the condition of your eyes. SNEC has a pre-operation consultation where your eyes will be subjected to a battery of tests to determine their suitability for corrective eye surgery, as well as a talk with a counsellor to ensure you know the details and risks of the surgery.

QUESTION:
I'm looking for a recommended lasik surgeon in Singapore. Surgery on both eyes on the same day. Help!?-
ANSWER:
Lasik and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.
They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.http://www.forerunnershealthcare.com

anyone has tried The Lasik Clinic at Paragon(Singapore) before?
Currently I've had an appointment at that clinic 2 weeks later.
Would like to know if anyone has had his/her Lasik surgery done there.
And if the 2 doctors there are good, experienced and reputable.
Thanks.-
ANSWER:
Haai
I am an Lasik Surgeon from Chennai India. I dont know of the Paragon centre, but I can give my inputs.
Lasik is a technology driven procedure so you have to focus on
1) What machine the centre has?
2) What type of procedure do they use for Flap Creation?
3) The cost?
4) The experience of the centre. The experience of the surgeon doesent really matter as far as Lasik goes, all surgeons can do a good lasik provided they have the best machine.
We for example have the bausch and Lomb Zyoptix Z-100 Machine which is one of the latest and the cost in Chennai is less than a 900 US $
See my profile and email me incase u need any more help

QUESTION:
eye lasik safe? where is the best place to do it in Singapore?
around how much? can pay by instalment? what the step in doing it??-
ANSWER:
Yes, it is safe. I had it done 2 years ago and LOVE IT! I'd do it again in a heartbeat! You just have to be very careful and choose who you go to carefully. Ask for people/clients that have had it done and call and ask them about their experience. Ask about his credentials and where the doctor has studied and worked. Most of the times they do offer a line of credit to have it done. Just remember not to choose someone because they are cheaper. You get what you pay for. That is a good indication of a doctor. Are they pumping people in and out for cheap? I know when I went they had many tests you had to go thru first to see if you even qualify to have it done. If so then you watch a video on it and even speak to someone about your ideas of it and what the outlook you expect is. Good luck! It's awesome!

QUESTION:
How do I get my night vision cured?
I went for Lasik Surgery in Singapore almost a year ago. My overall vision is almost perfect but I suffer from very bad night vision. As a result, I can't drive at night anymore. This is really affecting my life. I want to know if there's a cure for night vision, supplements to reduce it or if as a last resort, I should go for re-surgery again? Please advise.
The night vision that I'm getting is, everything light that I see when I drive or walk at night, is extra big, there are huge halos around any object with light. Also, it blurs nearby objects as a result.-
ANSWER:
If you are lucky, this is principally down to a small residual Rx, which is largely covered by your smaller pupils in the day-time (depth of focus or pinhole camera effect), so that you don't notice it then. If so, a pair of glasses with the missing minor correction could clear up your night vision considerably.Otherwise, this is almost certainly a corneal issue, involving irregularity or loss of transparency. Persistent dry eyes might be another possibility, but you don't mention any discomfort.
In which case there is not going to be a pill or supplement to cure it.
It's going to take a very careful examination of the cornea (corneas? Is it equally apparent in each eye independently?) to see what the remedial possibilities are, if any.
I'm afraid halos (from mild to severe) are a known, though far from inevitable, adverse result of refractive surgery. You should not go for re-surgery until the exact nature of the problem has been firmly diagnosed, and the risks and benefits of the treatment very clearly explained.

QUESTION:
MO & AR divorce laws, legal advice about spousal support, adultery, home...any lawyers?
Long story...complicated a bit! Please be kind, this is a very emotionally disturbing situation, only serious answers please.
I'll try to sum it up...Married in arkansas, resided together in Missouri.
Married almost 4 years, I was a single mother of 3 going back to college when we met, and i had my own home.
we married, I sold my home, we bought a 0,000+ home together.
I had to quit going to college and work full-time because his promise to pay my tuition after we married was not fulfilled.
I quit working all together 6 months later at his request because he works away from home and wanted me home when he was not working.
June 2007, he moved out and got an apartment in arkansas, putting much of the blame on his children, stating they do not care for me.
Has spent much time here in our home since then, with many unkept promises of moving back.
He took a job in Asia 1 year ago and while claims to be working 3 months on and 3 WEEKS off, I just found out that he has not been working all that time and in fact has an asian girlfriend with which he is residing, believed to be in Thailand. yet he will not admit this.
He has since let the mortgage get behind, his vehicle was even repossessed this week.
Although I have had suspicions of all of this, I confronted him manytimes and it was always denied.
I lost my part-time job this week because of emotional upset and inability to work. and have discussed many times about geting a full-time job and each time he simply refuses and says there's no need.
the emotional upset is because i had not spoken tohim in 7 days, got suspicious, found internet profiles(facebook, myspace) with many asian female friends, learned he's learning the language, etc. I called the vessel he was supposed to beon and he had left 1 week earlier. learned he had been in bangkok, had lasik eye surgery, then was supposed to fly home on feb. 11th, move home permanently, catch up the mortgage, then on the 11th i got an email from him stating he wasn't coming home. 5 days went by with no word from him, he claimed he had been in jail for hitting the doctor while at his lasik check-up. Now today, 5 more days later, he confesses its over!I have no money, a home that will eventually go into foreclosure, an unfinished degree with student loans to pay, 3 children to support, no means to go to the doctor for some type of help with my upset and nervous situation.
His job is a contract position, no taxes withheld, all checks deposited into an Asian bank account, possibley in Singapore. His income averages 0,000 per year. He claims he doesnt have a passport anymore either.
I have suspected, but he will not admit to anything and I'm afraid he may be seeking citizenship in an Asian country and am unsure as to whether or not this will make me responsible for all of our shared debt.
What are my chances of getting spousal support, at least temporarily?
Should I go ahead and file for divorce now? or only tryto seek spousal support and let him show that he is the guilty and abandoning party by waiting for him to file?***PLEASE***before any snide and hurtful remarks are made, please be aware that the only thing I am guilty for is loving someone who happens to be quite manipulative, hurtful, selfish, quite convincing, and someone whom I have always been able to trust and who I thought was my best friend as well. I am not a stupid person, I am very trusting and have always been an honest person. I am however, obviously a terrible judge of character. This situation has completely turned my world upside down, so please only serious answers from those who have serious educated answers.
I do plan to get an attorney, but have to have finances first and am trying to get a sense of what I may be up against..
