Lasik is the treatment used to reduce a patients dependence on eye glasses and contact lenses. A successful Lasik operation frees the patient from restrictions of movement and one can have follow a healthy outdoor lifestyle such as playing tennis, going for swimming, enjoying water sports or even watching movies for hours, only after two to three weeks of surgery. Lasik Los Angeles provides proven methodology for vision correction. In the past two decades, more than 1,000,000 million people have been treated through Lasik and Lasik Surgery Los Angeles is now considered more safe and successful than ever before.
Procedure of Lasik Surgery Los Angeles
Lasik is used to correct the farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism. The surgery requires a pre Lasik examination and correction procedure which starts by creating a corneal flap. The patients eyes are anesthetized with eye drops and a flap is created with a surgical blade or with the help of laser. During the surgery, the cornea is reshaped with the help of excimer laser and then light is focused on the retina. Later the corneal tissues are reshaped and the corneal flap is closed. Hence its an extremely sophisticated procedure which only proficient names such as Lasik Surgery Los Angeles can perform.
Lasik Surgery Los Angeles provides improved precision and requires less complication. Today, Lasik Surgery Los Angeles is one of the most successful procedure providing long term results and hence, it has been adopted by many for easy vision correction. The average price of surgery varies from person to person, depending on the condition of eyes and the degree of refractive error.
Prerequisites of Lasik Surgery Los Angeles
Precautions of Lasik Surgery Los Angeles
Certain precautions are advised post Lasik surgery. It is advised not to take a shower or wash hair immediately after the surgery, rub the eyes in the first week of surgery, not to wear makeup or get hair color in the first 10 days of surgery. In addition, wear goggles or eye shield to prevent eyes from infections. Refrain from going out in bright sunshine and wear sunglasses for first year after the surgery.
Lasik Surgery Los Angeles takes only five minutes to reclaim ones natural vision. Lasik Los Angeles not only provides better vision but helps to get rid of glasses and contact lenses. Whats more, it is an outpatient method in which you do not need to stay in hospital overnight.

QUESTION:
Does lasik eye surgery hurt?
I was watching a video on lasik eye surgery and it looks SO painful. The eye was bleeding a bit and the patient is awake the entire time. Has anyone here got this surgery done before? And is it painful to keep to keep your eyes open and for things to be pressing against and touching your eyes?
I'm planning to get this done in the future because the vision in my left eye isn't that wel.-
ANSWER:
I had lasik last summer and an enhancement to my right eye in December. Neither one of the surgeries hurt. All that happen to me was I had a lot of bruising on my actually eye balls and I slept the whole day after the surgery. Besides that there was virtually no pain and I like the results. The only complaint I have with the eye surgery is that now my eyes are really dry. They are so dry that my eye doctor had to put plugs in the tear duct and recommend I put eye drops four times a day but he prefers that I put them on every hour.

QUESTION:
Is there a way to improve eyesight naturally? And is Lasik eye surgery available for people with astigamatism?
I'm 20 years old and my eyesight is really bad (probably from all the years of video games, tv, and surfing the internet). I've decided to limit my time spent on these activities, but what I want to know is if there's a way to improve your eyesight without the use of glasses or contacts? Also, I've heard from someone that people with astigmatism can't get that eye restoration surgery. Is that true? Not that I can afford it right now anyway, I just want to know my options later on.
-
ANSWER:
There is no natural way to Improve eye sight. Dont fall for the advertising gimmicks.
Lasik works well for people with astigmatism.Lasik is relatively a very safe procedure which has been performed for nearly a decade. The technology has advanced so much that its now possible to predict the outcome even before laser is done. The pre op Diagnostic Procedures are called as orbscan and abberometry.
Lasik procedure takes just 10 mins for both the eyes and you can resume normal activities within 24 hrs.
The only disadvantage is the cost of the procedure , but this can be over come when u have the procedure done in countries like India which have very good laser centers and Ophthalmologists.
Eye care tourism is becoming very popular and u can save a lot of money.
I am an Ophthalmologist specialising in eye care tourism in Chennai India.

QUESTION:
What drugs are used in lasik surgery?
I just watched a video and the patient looked like she'd been sedated - needed help sitting up and walking. The doctor told her to 'go home and rest and that doesn't look like it will be a problem'. I got the impression she was already drowsy.-
ANSWER:
I was given valium--it didn't help much. She might have appeared that way because when I had this done I remember everything being blurry until I had been home and had my eyes closed for a couple of hours. They did help me up and out of the room and my husband escorted me to the car.

QUESTION:
If contacts build protein, how does lasik eye surgery work?
I've seen some videos of how the surgery is done, and they put these sort of contact things in your eyes. But since contacts build proteins and thats why you have to change them, how would the contact thingy inserted in your eyes during surgery work? Does it not build protein? How so?-
ANSWER:
I have a feeling that you are talking about something quite different to LASIK. However:In LASIK, some surgeons prefer to insert a Bandage Contact Lens after performing surgery. These are normally in place for no more than 24 hours - so protein build up is irrelevant here. In surface based treatments like Trans-Epi, PRK and LASEK, the BCL is often left in place for a period of 4-6 days. There is no significant protein build-up over this period of time, although it is not unusual to replace the lens if there is any form of debris accumulation.
The product that I think you are referring to is called an Implantable Contact Lens. These are plastic based lenses placed in the anterior chamber which sits behind the cornea and in front of the iris. Lenses placed in the anterior chamber do not suffer from protein build-up. The same applies to Intra-Ocular lenses placed in the posterior chamber - typically do correct for cataracts.

Lasik Eye Surgery Dangerous?
I'm planning to get Lasik Eye Surgery but after watching this video of what can happen to my vision - i dont know.http://lasikeyesurgeryinformation.blogspot.com/2007/11/lying-lasik-doctors-documentary-of.html

ANSWER:
Eye doctors do the Lasik procedure so many times a day that it's natural for them. Of course there can be accidents, but for the most part it's a very safe, effective procedure. And when you're done you can throw away the glasses! Have a long talk with your doctor before just so they can reassure and let you know what the risks and benefits are.

QUESTION:
How can I get people to watch my video and "like" it?
I entered a contest to win free lasik surgery. I had to make a video and submit it into the contest. It was picked as a finalist. Now, out of the eight finalists, whoever gets the most "likes" on their video wins the free lasik surgery. How can I get people to watch the video, click like, and then take the time to share it on their pages. People waste so much time on facebook doing nothing, but can't take 10 seconds to open a link, click "like" next to the video, and then share the link on their own wall. Here is the link if you want to check it out for suggestions. http://www.manneye.com/fb_iframes/voting/video_3.php-

QUESTION:
Nervous about Lasik, need personal experiences!?
This December my dad and I were going to get Lasik surgery together but after watching some videos of the procedure, i'm not so sure anymore. Also, I am nervous that I will not be able to keep my eye steady when they use the laser, what if i move it and the laser touches the wrong part of my eye?! I am really nervous so tell me about your experience, good or bad, how you felt, and if you are happy with your results and if the procedure was definitely worth it.Here are the movies I watched so let me know if it was anything like this, or just comment on them in general.

http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1077999647&fr=yfp-t-501
Also, in the second clip they poke something into the tear duct but not in the first one, but maybe they just didn't record that part, but do they always do that??
If you have had the surgery, are you able to rub your eyes like you could before the surgery? or do you have to be more careful when it comes to that?
Because I know they have to peel part of your eye up for the procedure and wanted to know if they fully heal (as if they never cut your eye) so you can normally rub your eyes again if you have an itch.-
ANSWER:
Hi there AskandAnswer! I just had PRK last week...and my husband had LASIK about a month ago. I work with a group of ophthalmologists...and didn't watch the procedures until I watched my hubby's procedure...and walked out of there like NO WAY!! After researching the procedures and surgeons and technology, I thought again. The newest technologies have "eye tracker" systems...where they will lock onto the pupil for small involuntary eye movements.
I was soooooo anxious and nervous...even when I went in for my consult I was shaking! Let alone the day of my PRK...I was a nervous wreck.
They did offer me a valium, which of course I took! and that helped take the edge off my anxiety and nervousness.
They got me all situated, and there was this little amber flashing light that I stared at for the whole procedure. I tell you, it was so quick! They had mapped out my entire cornea (twice because I had to have the custom wavefront) and had everything entered and checked in the computer that drives the laser three times or more. Just before my surgeon did anything to either eye, he used numbing drops that took effect immediately. There was a tiny bit of pressure, but absolutely NO pain. It actually took longer for the prep than for the actual laser, and the techs counted down how much longer. I didn't have anything put in my tear duct. I know that plugging the tear ducts helps with eye dryness for people who do not have laser correction surgery, so perhaps it's what that particular surgeon does to help with the postop dry eyes. It looks like what they did was insert a "punctal plug" into the eye's drainage system to help with dry eye postop.
I had the PRK, which is a little different than the LASIK. I didn't have the flap created. Instead, a very very thin part of the eye called the epithelium (only about 1/4 the thickness of the LASIK flap) was removed. After my procedure, I was put in "bandage contact lenses"...yup...just plain no power contacts used to help the cornea heal...and was in those for four days. I could see the instant I came out from under the laser. The next four days were an experience with some fluctuating vision, some dry eyes (more like when your contacts are dry), four times a day drops (three meds), and keeping my eyes closed as much as possible to help with the healing and other symptoms. The PRK procedure does have a slower healing time, and wasn't as comfortable as my husband's LASIK.
Well, I finally got those bandage contacts off this past Monday...and here...one week postop, I am seeing better than I have in my life without correction! I'm not 20/20 yet, but it's still TONS better than the 20/400 and worse vision I've had my entire life. The discomfort I had over the weekend (and they did give me numbing drops and Vicodin along with Motrin) was worth it.
Now, my husband was seeing 20/30 and 20/20 the day after his LASIK, had only dry eye symptoms, and today, about 4 weeks postop, is seeing 20/20 in his 'bad eye' and 20/15 in his good (he'd been previously correctable to 20/10 in his 'good eye'). I do not know my actual vision (next postop they will check...and it's not til next week), but I think it's at least 20/30 in my 'good' eye and at least 20/40 in my historically weaker eye...and I've been seeing steady improvement all week.
We are both VERY happy with our results...and I tell you...even if I end up needing some driving glasses and reading glasses in the next few years...no biggie! It is sooooo much better than the real thick glasses and expensive contacts that I used to have. Yes, the videos are pretty similar to what I saw with the exception of the purple dye and the punctal plug, with my husband's surgery.

QUESTION:
A few days following my lasik surgery, my left eye began to severely tear up.?
A couple of days after my surgery, I decided to play some video games. I was very focused and in the moment until my eyes began to tear up viciously. They also turned reallly red. I then decided to solve this problem by adding optive lubricant eye drops to my eyes.Is my left eye vision worse than it was before?
-
ANSWER:
i've heard this is a normal phenomenon after a laser sugery, especially with the eye strain that comes from playing video games. It takes the eyes time to heal.I don't know about your left eye though, as it's pretty hard to see through the internet. If vision in your left eye continues to be blurry, then you shouldgo to an eye doctor

QUESTION:
About Lasik?
I heard of Lasik, but i don't know much about it!1. Is Lasik Eye Surgery painful?
2. What age can I get Lasik? I'm only 13
3. Is there a way to see how Lasik is done so I will know? Like a video from Youtube
4. How can they "fix" your vision?
5. Do I have to wear glasses or contacts after the surgeory?
6. How much do it cost?
-
ANSWER:
I am trying my best to get you informed as much as possible:1. LASIK eye surgery itself is painless. The eye is numbed with anesthetic drops before the procedure. General anesthesia is not necessary. A few patients experience temporary, mild discomfort following laser eye surgery. However, most LASIK recipients are pleasantly surprised at how little discomfort they have, and usually mention this when they talk about their experience.
2. While people from all ages can benefit from laser vision correction, the procedure is only FDA-approved for those over the age of 18. In very rare cases, doctors may actually perform procedure on those below this age, but results may vary considerably. Most experts recommend waiting until you are at least 21 before getting LASIK eye surgery in order to give your eyes time to stabilize. While waiting requires some patience on your part, the rewards will be well worth it. Improved vision, more consistent results and decreased risk of sight regression are all benefits of waiting to get LASIK surgery.
3. Try this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-TUMw1FTmY
4. LASIK is used to help treat farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism. To treat nearsightedness, the cornea must be made flatter (less steep). This is accomplished by removing tissue from the center or central portion of the cornea. To treat farsightedness, the central cornea must be made steeper (less flat). This is accomplished by directing the laser beam to remove tissue from around the peripheral (outside) area of the exposed cornea. To treat astigmatism, the cornea must be made more spherical and uniformly curved (instead of irregular like a football or egg).
5. Most patients will not need to wear contacts or glasses after surgery. However, there is always a risk that you may be under treated or over treated by the surgery. Only a certain percent of patients achieve 20/20 vision without glasses or contacts. You may require additional treatment, but additional treatment may not be possible. You may still need glasses or contact lenses after surgery. This may be true even if you only required a very weak prescription before surgery. If you used reading glasses before surgery, you may still need reading glasses after surgery.
6. LASIK prices differ widely from one provider to another and depend on many factors. The only universal standard is that LASIK and other refractive surgery prices are quoted per eye. Remember that one LASIK procedure equals only one eye even if both eyes are corrected on the same day. So the price quoted for a procedure doubles if you intend to have both eyes corrected. LASIK surgeons also might add extra charges for new technologies, including wavefront analysis for extra precise corrections (custom wavefront LASIK). You also might be charged extra for IntraLase, a LASIK procedure in which a laser is used instead of a bladed instrument to create the flap on the front of the eye. In LASIK, this thin flap is lifted so that laser energy can be applied to shape the eye, and then replaced to serve as a type of natural bandage. A report commissioned by AllAboutVision.com from a leading industry analyst in 2008 listed average LASIK costs as:
* ,105 for all laser-based vision correction procedures in which a single price is quoted.
* ,662 for non-customized LASIK using a bladed instrument (microkeratome) and excimer lasers that are not guided by wavefront analysis.
* ,341 for wavefront-guided LASIK using IntraLase.
Note that there can be wide variation in what an advertised price will include. Beware of advertising that, for example, promises "LASIK from 9 per eye." Look for the fine print. Typically, only a few select people are actually eligible for LASIK at prices that sound unusually low, because most eyes require more extensive correction or more follow-up after the surgery.

QUESTION:
Lasik procedure... scared sh*tless!?
Im 23 F and I may be getting Lasik surgery in a few months and I stupidly watched a video on Youtube.com on how it was done and now I'm freaked out beyond belief... anyone have this procedure done and would you do it again if you had to or was it that bad? Tell me a short story of your experience. I'm freaked out.-
ANSWER:
Im a just turned 24/M, I had it Oct 8 2010, the first 3 weeks my eyes were really dry after the procedure, and I had a subconjuctival hemorrhage. Dry Eyes and the Hemorrhage are 2 of the most common complications, the blood from hemorrhage is gone now, but I was really worried about the dry eyes because on the internet and on yahoo answers i read about how people have dry eyes forever (just check yahoo answers search for lasik dry eyes and you will read about people who had lasik have permanent dry eyes), and I was really worried Id have that. But thankfully my eyes are watery now and I don't need to put in drops constantly. Make sure you ask your dr to do a lacrimation test, and ask him about dry eyes, how often does it occur with his patients after their procedures. For the first month after the procedure you have to put eye drops and antibiotic eye drops in your eyes for the first 2 weeks. I recommend you also buy Omega 3 Vitamins and Flax seed Oil, because they are known to help improve lacrimation, I also bought those, and I think they helped alot.I recommend you goto the LASIK Wikipedia page and read the complications section, so you can ask your Ophthalmologist before you undergo anything.
I don't wanna scare you, I myself have no problem, I can clearly now without glasses, but I just want to educate you on the risks, because we all know the benefits.

Is Lasik Eye surgery safe???!?!?!?
im 13 years old and i wear glasses and i dont want to wear it the rest of my fucking life i dont want contacts either . Tell me all the things about lasik eye surgery the disadvantages and the advantages. I know i cant get the procedure now but when im 20 i think and i saw a video of it . it cuts your cornea off or something and they put it back on???!?!? what if it falls off again like in spring when you have allergies and your eyes get raelly itchty . Also can this last the rest of your life or do you have to do something every other week and if you got lasik surgery i want to know ur experiences
thank u .-
ANSWER:
Like any surgery there is an amount of risk involved with LASIK corrective eye surgery, but the advantages of having the procedure far outweigh the side effects for most people.During the procedure what happens is the surgeon cuts a flap in your cornea and gently lifts it back to expose the middle part of your cornea (stroma). The laser is then used to reshape the stroma before the surgeon reseals the flap again. Don't worry it can't fall out, the surgeon doesn't cut it all the way off, and it naturally knits back together again.
There are always things to consider before getting the surgery done. Firstly, do you fall within the prescription ranges. Currently LASIK corrective surgery can work for patients who have a prescription up to -/+7.00, but this may change in the next 6-7 years. It doesn't last forever, unfortunately the life expectancy of any corrective surgery is around 7-10 years before you start feeling you need prescriptive help again and LASIK surgery is a one time thing only I'm afraid, because they cut so deep into the corneal tissue.
There are side effects with any surgery and corrective eye surgery is no different. Side effects can include;
Surgery induced dry eyes
Overcorrection (removing too much tissue from the stroma layer)
Undercorrection (not removing enough tissue from the stroma layer)
Halos or starbursts around light sources at night
Light sensitivity
Ghost images or double vision
Wrinkles in flap (striae)
Debris or growth under flap
Of course, these side effects are only seen in a small percentage of patients who have this done and aren't long term. The FDA has found no long term side effects from having LASIK surgery.
Hope this helps a little

I have a taped video of my lasik surgery that i got recently and ive been kinda stumped on where to go to get it from my old vcr to my youtube channel. can you help me out???-

the process requires special equipment. but if you are not particular about the quality, you can just buy one of those usb tv tuners (if you are a pinoy and are here in p.i. they cost no more than php 2k) and then hook the rf cable from the vcr (most vcrs have them but im not sure about yours, and they broadcast the video and audio mostly to ch 3 or 4). these usb tv tuners usually comes with capture or record software (mine does), and you can record from there manually.

QUESTION:
Could i get intacs or lasik for my mild myopia?
ok, so im 19 and have -.75 myopia in my right eye and -1 myopia in my left eye. I have been this way since I was 15 and found out I needed glasses for driving. I used to wear contact lenses but I didnt really like them. I have glasses but only wear them when i feel like seeing perfectly because I have no restrictions on my driver's license because I ended up passing the vision test 20/40. However, I am thinking about becoming a police officer and know that I will have to have 20/20 vision with glasses or without correction. Would doctors recommend lasik or intacs for myopia with my kind of vision. I know it is a low prescription but I dont want to wear contacts or glasses as a police officer. I was also thinking about natural vision improvement because Im pretty sure my eyesight is caused by nearwork since im always on the computer or playing video games. any suggestions or opinions would be greatly appreciated.-
ANSWER:
I don't think you should mess with anything like lasik for a low prescription like yours. You probably do quite well without glasses for most things so I'd wait before taking any dramatic action, your vision might not change much so it might not be worth it. Lasik is risky so I've heard.

QUESTION:
Is there any way I can get better eyesight?
I want better vision. I've heard many thing like eating carrot to lasik. I want a natural way to at least improve my vision slightly. Eat healthier maybe? Also, are there glasses I can wear that will give me vision that is beyond 20/20? I also heard playing video games and watching too much tv has nothing to do with it, its all genetics-
ANSWER:
Most people can perfect their eyesight naturally by unlearning the incorrect vision habits, reintegrating the correct vision behaviors, and undoing the damage of artificial corrections(glasses, contacts, surgery) and blur. Genetics has very little to do with the cultural affliction of blur.Nutrition is important but will not change the way we use our eyes. Blur and incorrect vision habits squelch our eyes abilitiy to pick up nutrients and get rid of metabolic wastes.
Doctors can prescribe glasses that can give us 20/15 and 20/10 vision but they are even more of a strain on our vision system then 20/20 corrections and will lead to more blur much more quickly. Human eyes have capacity for telescopic and microscopic vision when we fine tune our vision habits.
TV and video games and computers encourage us to use our vision system incorrectly and lead us to blurry vision. If we know the incorrect vision habits to avoid and the correct vision habits to improve, we can watch TV, play video games, and use the computer as much as we like and our vision will only get stronger.
A good place to start learning about Natural Eyesight Improvement is to read the best books. I have a link to one of them on my website. Most people also need the guidance of a local teacher. I also have a link to a list of many of them around the world on my website. I would be glad to interview one of them near you to make sure they are teaching correct principles and not eye exercises or potions.

QUESTION:
Question on Lasik Eye Surgery?
Im 19 and my vision is BADDD, Im maybe thinking of getting a lasik surgery in the future.. I dont know because ive seen the videos of the process and i am also aware you can go blind but my question is around how much does it cost and can everyone have the surgery or is there certain people who can and who cant?-
ANSWER:
Ignore the first answerer. I am considering Laser Eye Surgery too but I am put off by the idea after reading the consent form. It's just too risky although the chances of going blind are extremely rare, I just cannot do it because my eyes are the most essential part of my body. Some of the things it stated in the consent form was you may get an infection after the surgery and this can possibly lead to scarring and blindness. Or your vision will be worst than it was before. Im not exaggerating, thats what it exactly says on the consent form. Remember all Long Term Effects are not known. In fact I googled Laser Eye Surgery and found an article about people having complications after the surgery later in life. Think very wisely..

(im 13) and the only way i tell if my eyes have gotten worse is me holding my hand in front of my face and checking how far away it is from my face until it gets blurrry (its been the same since early last year
).Anyways im thinking about PRK or LASIK (im near sighted) and ive seen videos on them too and they don't look that comfortable. should i get it once im 18 and do u think the technology will improve over the years. if so then how should i prevent my eyes from getting worse starting from today until 2017...
-
ANSWER:
Laser vision correction is an excellent alternative to glasses and contacts. Whether you choose LASIK or PRK is really up to the recommendation of your eye doctor. A preoperative consultation at any laser vision correction provider will recommend which procedure you should get and why. Most people are okay to get LASIK when they turn 18, so that’s a good age to have it done. With regard to technology, it will always continue to improve, but the Advanced Custom Wavefront technology today is providing excellent outcomes for a wide variety of conditions. Finally, unfortunately there’s nothing you can do to prevent your eyes from getting worse.
Hope that helps,

QUESTION:
Standard Lasik or Wavefront?
I've been living with glasses since i was 6 years old. Now 20, my mother has agreed to pay for my lasik eye surgery. The doctor told me that it would be 0 an eye for standard and 0 an eye for wavefront.
I've been researching wavefront and it says its mainly to rule out halos and double vision, but is it really worth it? I'm Extremely nervous about the procedure as i've been watching countless videos of eye surgeries lately. Thanks for all the help
Please no stupid answers, this is serious to me-
ANSWER:
Please ask for your ophthalmology medical detail. In the medical record, If your astigmatism level is high (2+), Wavefront is suitable for you. Wavefront is very effective in treating Astigmatism. Halos or Double Vision are only the little small things that Wavefront can do. Otherwise, unnecessary.Save your money if you can
Kindest regards.

My vision is getting worse. I wear glasses, and my degree keeps rising. I want it to stop before it gets really, really bad. Is there any natural ways to improve my vision? I don't want to live my whole life wearing glasses or contacts. I've limited my TV and games time, but computer is a little hard because I need it for homework purposes. No, I can't use lasik eye surgery. Please help me! I need to improve my vision before it gets so bad that I'll be blind as a bat. I heard people got better vision by not using glasses or contacts anymore, but how do they do that? What if they can't see at all?-
ANSWER:
take 10 day fasts from all screens, including ipod. and spend more time in the sun, take 5 minute eyebaths once a day. start by just letting the hot sun hit your eyelids, then gradually until the sun doesnt hurt your eyes to look near it (never directly at it), you can let the light shine into your eye from different angles by moving your head.hey ill just give you the site

QUESTION:
Strategies for Presbyopia Management?
I've read that it's fairly common to have LASIK monovision performed, which can enable a somewhat satisfactory existence when viewing the "real world"; however I've also heard that when this procedure is done, it disables the ability to view 3D video, which seems to require approximately equal vision in each eye. My question is as follows: After LASIK monovision surgery, can glasses/contacts be made/worn that will allow for stereoscopic viewing of 3D material?-
ANSWER:
Yes, it is possible. It would be best managed with a contact lens in your reading eye so that it makes distance vision in that eye equal to the distance vision of the fellow eye. Your eyes need to see fairly equally at distance in order for 3D video to work properly.

QUESTION:
I have been reading nightmare stories. Will I go blind!?
I had Lasik eye surgery to correct my near-sightedness, and I used a good doctor and LASIK Plus Vision Centers in Atlanta, Georgia. After I had the procedure, I could see perfect without glasses, but I started reading all the nightmare stories on the internet, and watching LASIK YouTube videos. I am really scared now. I am thirty-seven, and I wish I had never taken this risk. I was fine with my glasses, and I wish I had them back. However, now there is no going back. What are my chances of going completely blind? I can deal with the bad night vision and halos around lights at night. I just want to know I won't go completely blind.-

QUESTION:
Surgery for Migraines?
I've seen on web MD that they are working on Surgery for Migraines. I was wondering if anyone has had it or if anyone knows more about it.http://www.webmd.com/video/migraine-surgery
Also, do you think Lasik surgery helps relieve Migraines as well?
Thanks a bunch,
-Silvia-
ANSWER:
I have suffered from migraines for years so I'm always on the lookout for new therapies. The latest I saw a few weeks ago was that a plastic surgeon that does a lot of facelifts has seen that women who got facelifts (where nerves were cut in the face around the temple region) were no longer experiencing migraines. This was just beginning to be looked at as a possible therapy for migraines.

ANSWER:
Anti-Semitic accounts in the New Testament have taught mankind to hate the Jew. As long as the New Testament continues in print (at least in its present form) the Jew will be hated. Here are but a few verses from where Christianity borrowed its anti-Semitic sentiments.“The children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8.12)
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold your house is left unto you desolate.” (Matthew 23.37,38) Then answered all the people (Jews) and said, “His blood be on us and on our children” (Matthew 27:25). 1 “But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you to councils, and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten” (Mark 13.9)
“He that believeth not shall be damned” (Mark 16.16)
“Ye are of your father the devil and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And I say the truth, why do you not believe me? He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God” (John 8.43-47)
“Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so you do. Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers” (Acts 7.51-53)
“It was necessary that the word of God should first have been spoken to you: but seeing you put it from you and judge yourself unworthy of everlasting life, we turn to the Gentiles” (Acts 13.45-51)
“For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake ... wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; not giving heed to Jewish fables and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.” (Titus 1.10-14).
“The Jews, who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God and are contrary to all men: forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.” (l Thessalonians 2.14-16)
“Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is an antichrist, that denieth the father and the son. Whoever denieth the son, the same hath not the father” (l John 2.22,23)
“I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan ...” (Revelation 2.9,10)
“Behold I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews and are not but do lie; behold I will make them to come and worship before thy feet...” (Revelation 3.9)
now examine the words of some Christian “saints” and leaders and notice how their anti-Jewish expressions are based on New Testament verses listed earlier in this article.
Origen: “Their rejection of Jesus has resulted in their present calamity and exile. We say with confidence that they will never be restored to their former condition. For they have committed a crime of the most unhallowed kind, in conspiring against the saviour.”
St. Gregory: “ Jews are slayers of the Lord, murderers of the prophets, enemies of God, haters of God, adversaries of grace, enemies of their fathers’ faith, advocates of the devil, brood of vipers, slanderers, scoffers, men of darkened minds, leaven of the Pharisees, congregation of demons, sinners, wicked men, stoners and haters of goodness.”
St. Jerome: “....serpents, haters of all men, their image is Judas ... their psalms and prayers are the braying of donkeys..”
St. John Chrysostom: “I know that many people hold a high regard for the Jews and consider their way of life worthy of respect at the present time... This is why I am hurrying to pull up this fatal notion by the roots ... A place where a whore stands on display is a whorehouse. What is more, the synagogue is not only a whorehouse and a theater; it is also a den of thieves and a haunt of wild animals ... not the cave of a wild animal merely, but of an unclean wild animal ... When animals are unfit for work, they are marked for slaughter, and this is the very thing which the Jews have experienced. By making themselves unfit for work, they have become ready for slaughter. This is why Christ said: “ask for my enemies, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them and slay them before me’ (Luke 19.27).”
St. Augustine: “Judaism is a corruption. Indeed Judas is the image of the Jewish people. Their understanding of the Scriptures is carnal. They bear the guilt for the death of the saviour, for through their fathers they have killed the Christ.”
St. Thomas Aquinas: “It would be licit to hold Jews, because of the crimes, in perpetual servitude, and therefore the princes may regard the possessions of Jews as belonging to the State.”
The teachings of Martin Luther:
“Know, 0 adored Christ, and make no mistake, that aside from the Devil, you have no enemy more venomous, more desperate, more bitter, than a true Jew who truly seeks to be a Jew... a Jew, a Jewish heart, are hard as wood, as stone, as iron, as the Devil himself. In short, they are children of the Devil, condemned to the flames of hell.”
“O Lord, I am too feeble to mock such devils. I would do so, but they are much stronger than I in raillery, and they have a God who is a past master in this art; He is called the devil and the wicked spirit.. They have transformed God into the devil, or rather into a servant of the Devil, accomplishing all the evil the Devil desires, corrupting unhappy souls , and raging against himself: in short, the Jews are worse than the devils.”
“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews? First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians. Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed. Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught. Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.”
“Now whoever wishes to accept venomous serpents, desperate enemies of the lord, and to honor them, to let himself be robbed, pillaged, corrupted and cursed by them, need only turn to the Jews. If this is not enough for him, he can do more: crawl up into their...... and worship the sanctuary, so as to glorify himself afterwards for having been merciful, for having fortified the Devil and his children, in order to blaspheme our beloved lord and the precious blood that has redeemed us. He will then be a perfect Christian, filled with works of mercy, for which Christ will reward him on the-day of judgment with the eternal fire of hell (where he will roast together with the Jews).”
“In truth, the Jews, being foreigners, should possess nothing, and what they do possess should be ours.”
“...Cursed goy that I am, I cannot understand how they manage to be so skillful, unless I think that when Judas Iscariot hanged himself, his guts burst and emptied. Perhaps the Jews sent their servants with plates of silver and pots of gold to gather up Judas’ piss with the other treasures, and then they ate and drank his offal, and thereby acquired eyes so piercing that they discover in the scriptures commentaries that neither Matthew nor Isaiah himself found there, not to mention the rest of us cursed goyim..”
“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.”
“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.”
“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of their country.”
These anti-semitic words uttered by popes, priests, pastors and laymen, were put into action by unruly Christian mobs and later by Hitler’s followers.
Over time, Christian anti-Semitism acquired a racial dimension along with its religious thrust. This had significant consequences. After all, when Jew-hating was rooted in religion, a Jew could convert to Christianity and become, as it were, fully kosher. But when states began forcing Jews to convert—or face expulsion or execution—the authenticity of the Jews’ conversions became suspect. After Christians conquered Spain from the Muslims in 1492, they forced Jews and Muslims to convert, flee, or die. Many Jews converted yet practiced their old faith secretly, leading church officials to make new rules discriminating against all so-called conversos.
In the 19th century, anti-Semitism became increasingly racialized. The Enlightenment certainly made life better for Jews, at least in Western Europe, where religious tolerance took hold. Yet the Enlightenment also brought new “scientific”—or, as we now say, pseudoscientific—notions that human beings belonged to different races, some superior to others. Under these notions, Jews (as well as Africans, Arabs, and others) were deemed to be biologically and thus immutably inferior to white or “Aryan” Europeans.
Alongside racism, 19th-century Europe also saw the spread of nationalism: the idea that every people deserved its own state. Nationalism served to justify the repression of “alien” peoples, especially Jews—not just in eastern Europe, where Jews lived in ghettos, insulated from their Polish or Russian compatriots, but even in Western Europe, where many Jews were assimilated and considered themselves full citizens of their countries. This new form of ideological anti-Semitism—seeing the Jews as an alien and inferior people amid Christian European nations—finally got its name in 1879, thanks to an Austrian journalist named Wilhelm Marr.
By this point, the ideology of anti-Semitism had bred elaborate theories about the Jewish people’s evil. In some cases, ancient religious bigotries were updated, as in the “blood libel” that Jews killed Christian children to use their blood in making Passover matzot. (In Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ukraine, and elsewhere, Jews were actually tried in court on such charges.) In other cases, the slanders were new, as with the publication of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a document fabricated by Russian secret police that purported to divulge the Jews’ conspiratorial plans for world domination.

QUESTION:
Could this behavior be related to the way I deal with stress?
Before you start to read, I would like to politely ask that you don't rip me apart about the behavior that I had. Since I lost my job, I've been doing a lot of reflection and I know how much of an A*hole I've been but I wasn't doing it with malicious intent...THE DETAILS:
My life has been nothing less than an anxiety attack. my mom and I didn't get along because she couldn't keep me under her nail once I got into Junior High... She threatened room and board at 15 so I was forced into the work force the minute I turned 16 and when I wasn't working 60+ hours at Hollywood Video I was a soul searcher, seeking for my soul mate and a way to get out of my house... About a year after graduation (I graduated high school with a 1.0 (my parents didn't make school a priority), I met my wife to be. We met over the internet through an AOL dating personal ad that I put up and then after playfully messaging for several months, my wife got a web cam and then we were finally convinced to meet due to our attraction to each other; even though it was a 2 hour drive. She came to my house on 9/11/01 (two towers day) and that's when my life went EVEN more stressful (not because of her but the events that took place). In November we moved in to an apartment together. In December, we found out she was pregnant (delivered in July). I started my 8 year long career months after she delivered). In July 2004 we finally got married. In March 2006 we had a second kid. And now April 2010, I lost my 8 year career that supported the family forcing my wife to return to work from being a SAHM and me to become a SAHD and a freshman in college...THE BEHAVIOR:
Ever since I met my wife, I knew she was the one for me because our personalities were very similar. We also were very sexual from the start (hence the early pregnancy). After we moved in, we were still very sexually attracted but at some point the attraction (or the excitement) started to go away. She was starting to act different and become more independent of me and pushing me away. She accused her acting differently on me and my lack of physically attention to her so I asked her change something about her looks to get me re-interested again. At first it was her bangs, then I asked her to bleach her hair, when she went back to brunette I asked her to do a perm, then I asked her to get lasik so she could lose her glasses, then I asked her to get all dolled up with makeup (she stopped after we met), and right before I lost my job she was blonde again.... I became OBSESSED with how she looked! It wasn't about attraction any more because no matter what she changed, she wasn't the same person as when we first met. It's now 8 years later from when we met and she's a totally different person than when I first met her, we don't have ANY of the same interests and to be frank, she's very distant from me (can you blame her?)... Do you think that my rushed adulthood and rushed relationship would explain me trying to change my wife's appearance all the time or do you think it was because she was changing and I was retaliating to her interdependence from me?THE NOW:
Since I lost my job, I haven't had the urge to change her, as a matter of fact, I'm actually feeling relieved that I lost my job and that I can focus on my life now!!! After 10 years of being graduated, I finally have a chance to be a freshman in college and get to know my 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter... Oh and hopefully repair my marriage that I rushed into and ruined in the process.... If I wanted to change her in any way, all I would want is to help her with her skin problems (she has excema) and anything else I would wish to go back to the way she was when we first met (bangs and all) and start over with "hello"....
She IS born in July. We're both Cancers. Our birthday's are days apart. She's older by a year though.-
ANSWER:
I feel a lot of it with you was simply a "growing up" process you've gone thru throughout the yrs. is the reason for your lifestyle changes. To be forced to work from age 16 you've done nothing but work work work! Then you got married & had responsibilities rite off the bat. Yes, I do feel you were "rushed" into adulthood from one thing or another, one reason to another. You barely had time to breathe & something new was added on to your many responsibilities. You even tho't by chging your wife would help change things but found that not to be true either. You just were trying to grab at straws for some kind of changes & didn't know what directions to go in. I certainly do wish you the best in college & this should enable you to get a good career & finally be able at a point in the future to settle yourself down & live a normal fairly stress free life. You have had one hectic growing up period throughout your whole life so far. You DO deserve a break from all this stress & at times being forced to actually go in circles as you didn't know what to do next to change things...I so wish the best for you, & a happy future you so deserve...:)

QUESTION:
Few questions regarding careers in the military?
Right now my life is a scattered puzzle on a table, I know what it is, just not sure how to put it together. First and foremost, I want to get into some kind of special operations career. I understand the numbers are against me, but that wont stop me. Im only 17, so thats about another 2 years before im graduated and have to make my choice.I wish to become an officer in which ever branch i choose, so thats a start. From about Jan. till Sept. i did Navy SEAL workouts, because well thats that i wanted to be a few months back, but now my mind changes everyday. I don't want to come off to you guys as this kid that plays Call of Duty all day and says he wants to be this or that.I am actually willing to put in the work. What made me change my mind about the SEALs was a number of things, my eye-sight doesn't meet the requirements i have to either get lasik or hope that these "eye workouts" that i do make it naturally better, and that goes for just about any SpecOps in each branch, i am not allowed to wear glasses, i also didnt want to end up NOT making it to end up mopping the deck of a huge ship. Then I thought i would try my luck with the Army and get into the Rangers, from there, work my way up to Special Forces. This is actually my current route that I am thinking about taking but not quiet sure. Trust me i know i might make it seem like i think this is all easy, but i know it will be a challenge. The final path that I wouldnt mind is Air Force Pararescue, I read about how some guy went from being in the Rangers to go for Air Forces Pararescue. Im just stuck as to which path is the good for me, Im not here to ask you guys to choose my life or how to do it, but just here for some suggestions or sharing your experiences if you ever came across this and what did you do? Maybe Im just a clue-less 17 year old who only wants to do whats in movies or video games to you guys, but for me, I don't think I could see my self doing anything else.-
ANSWER:
You can't become an officer with out a college degree. If you are serious about going into spec ops you don't want to be an officer, officers only get to be on a team for two years then they get promoted to a desk job. Talk to you army recruiter about the 18 x-ray program which is a strait shot into special forces you go through basic then infantry ait then airborne training after that you will go to training for SFAS (special forces assessment and selection) after that if you get selected you will begin you training for special forces. Once you are on a team you will stay in a team until you an E-7, if you want to stay on the team after that you can put in a walk packet and become a warrant officer on a team. If you don't want a desk job i suggest this path.

QUESTION:
Who put a curse on my eyes?
I had lasik surgery about 8 years ago, then one day it just went out. I had to get glasses. Now the funny thing is I can't read anything, play video games, or watch movies. I can use a computer, but I can't look at printed things at all. If I do, my eyes blister over and swell within a few hours and I am out of work for a week. Its ridiculous and none of the doctors believe me. Anyone else had anything like this? The most a doctor could ever tell me was that its blepharitis, but come on. Seriously, I read one paragraph of text and I'm out of commission for a week. I think someone probably put a curse on me. I'm not even 30 years old and I'm like an old man already.-
ANSWER:
Have you ever considered going to the doctor when you're having these problems? He/She can't treat the problem if they don't see it! Your problems could be a multitude of things, from Dry Eye Syndrome to Blepharitis or something more indepth. Go see your eye care provider...while your having the problem.

QUESTION:
Does lasik eye surgery hurt?
I'm 13 and i have really poor eyesight. My right eye is -7.50 and my left is -7.00 (i think). I have an astigmatism and myopia for my right eye, and nothing for my left. My mom plans to go to California and get lasik eye surgery for both eyes for me when i am 18. This leads me to the question, does it hurt? I've seen videos of it and it looks like it's a painful operation, even if the eye is numb.
Also, my contact prescription is -6.50 for my right (astigmatism lens of course.), and -7.00 for my left.-

After 10 years of being graduated, I finally have a chance to be a freshman in college and get to know my 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter... Oh and hopefully repair my marriage that I rushed into and ruined in the process.... If I wanted to change her in any way, all I would want is to help her with her skin problems (she has excema) and anything else I would wish to go back to the way she was when we first met (bangs and all) and start over with "hello"....-
ANSWER:
Hm. I would venture to say that working put a stress on your life, and with the stress gone you're a more relaxed, happier, person. If you're unhappy with such a big aspect of your life it can tend to leak into other areas, especially with something as big as work.I agree with you though, your wife shouldn't have to change her appearence for you to be interested in her, even though an occasional change wouldn't be so bad.
